Mary studied at Bicton college for three years and has been an active member of the regions horticultural societies as President of Axminster Horticultural Society and previously Chairwoman of the Hardy Plants society (Devon group). Mary has also been very successful with her displays at The Axe Vale Festival where her show gardens have won many Large Gold awards and several Best in Shows.

Mary has always been keen to pass on her experience to others and frequently gives talks to garden groups on a variety of themes linked to Burrow Farm Gardens and its development.
